Vacancies and Join the Band

In our main band we currently have vacancies for Trombones and Bb Bass (Tuba) in the brass section and 2nd percussionist (hand percussion) and tuned percussion (Xylophones etc) in the percussion section. However, we welcome all players of standard brass band instruments and the occasional none standard instrument like sousaphone.

The band is forward thinking and believes it is important to play music that the public recognises and enjoys. This is the core of the music that we play.  We play a mixture of TV and Film themes, rock, pop, folk and some traditional well known brass band pieces. Within in this we have a wide range of music from easy to difficult to play to stretch the ability of the band and we always strive to improve our playing standard for the band as a whole and individually.

We have our own concerts, we play at fetes, festivals and private events. Our gigs average out about once a fortnight in the summer season.

We can provide compimentary instrument loan when required as well as free training and tuition if you are just starting out on your playing journey. If you are new to brass bands or want to learn to play a brass instrument, here is the instrument line up:-

Cornets, English Tenor Horns, Flugel Horn, Baritones, Euphonium, Trombones and Tubas make up the brass sections.

Brass bands also have a percussion section that can consist of Drum Kit, Timpani, Xylophone, Glockenspeil and various hand percussion.

We rehearse on Wednesday nights 7.30-9.30p.m at Ferring Village Hall for the main band. Training band for all ages starts at 7p.m (email for more details).
