Worthing Silver Band is a Brass Band based in Ferring. We welcome anyone of any age who can play a brass instrument at any playing levels and our main band plays at Fetes, Music Festivals, Weddings, Birthdays and other events.

Worthing Silver Band is a registered charity and supports anyone who can or would like to learn to play a brass instrument or percussion including xylophone family instruments. We rehearse every Wednesday 7.30-9.30p.m in Ferring Village Hall. We pride ourself in providing a welcoming and supporting atmosphere for both children and adults of all playing levels. We have instruments that can be provided on free loan to anyone wanting to join the band. When we have interest we run a training band for beginners and returners before the main band rehearsals.
Worthing Silver Band is a registered charity no 1214197. We strongly believe that everyone should have access to play a brass instrument without the barriers of high cost and that the public should have the opportunity to hear a brass band play and that the heritage of brass bands is preserved. We accept players of all levels and can provide them with a free instrument loan. We are happy for students to play our instruments at their educational settings as long as they remain members of the band. We need your help to continue do this. All money goes to buying new instruments, instruments repairs and buying new music. Did you know that an arrangement for one tune for a brass band to play now costs around £100 and that a new tuba can be more than £10,000!

The Band is available to book for parties, weddings, fetes, festivals, Christmas carols and singalongs and any celebration. We can play a wide range of music from Pop to rock to theme tunes and folk and traditional brass music and can be tailored to suit the occasion.
Frequently asked questions -
How much is it to book the band - Prices start at £250 for a typical fete, the price varies depending on how long you want us to play and how much rehearsal is required to prepare for the event.
What do we need to provide for the band? The full band will typically take up around 7mx7m - we have squeezed into smaller places, but this is ideal. If the event is outside we require a back up plan to play undercover if it rains. We will also require chairs for players.
Can you play for free for charities? Unfortunately, no. We are a charity ourselves and there is a cost to us putting on performances and this must be covered in order for us to sustain ourselves . However, we are happy to support charities and play at their event for our minimum fee or team up for joint events, sharing profits. for
