About Us

Worthing Silver Band prides itself on its friendly welcoming atmosphere and has a range of standards within its members as well as a mixed age range of children and adults

We have a training band for beginners and improvers that plays  7 - 7.30pm before our main band.

We strongly believe that everyone should have access to music and learning a musical instrument without the barriers of cost.

We can provide free loan of musical instruments to all our members. Whether you are at school and want to play a brass instrument and can't afford it, a student in the same boat or an adult that wants to begin or return to playing;  WE CAN HELP!

Worthing Silver Band was formed in 1975 from the Worthing Youth Band whose parents wanted their children to be able to continue to access community music well into their adult years.

Since then we have had a large number of players come through the band’s ranks. Many still play with bands around the county and a few have even made playing music a career.

We are always looking for new members and will do our best to accomodate and support you on your musical journey.

The band play at a wide variety of local community events in addition to providing social evenings to give members the opportunity to form stronger bonds. We have a refreshment break and chat at every rehearsal.

Rehearsals for main band are at 7.30p.m Wednesday nights at Ferring Village Hall, 90 Ferring Street, Ferring, Worthing. BN12 5JP
